“INDIGO”
On Saturday,
January 29, the movie, “INDIGO”
debuted in private theatres all across the country in a
special one time showing. The quick sell-out of tickets
proved the enormous interest and hunger of thousands of
adults, to know more about these children.
The story portrays
a young Indigo
girl with extraordinary intuitive and healing powers, who
knows who she is. Her encounters with consistently
incredulous adults leave her unscathed while she calmly,
patiently, and lovingly informs them of what will
potentially unfold. Wherever she goes, her compassionate
and wise energy brings people together in harmony and the
story ends happily.
The movie offers
us a brief view of some of the attributes of the
Indigos,
certainly the positive ones. However, it fails to address
many of the other attributes causing challenge and
subsequent behavior problems which can
lead to depression, self-destruction, and even violence. It
idealizes and idolizes these children and while it
is
important to recognize their gifts, it is vital that we
remember they still have the same needs as other
children .
Hats off to the dedication of James Twyman,
Donald Walsh, and Stephen Simon for making the movie and
bringing to light these amazing children.
Now we need a success story offering solutions for the
majority of
Indigos,
and their
parents and teachers who are not as balanced as the star of
this film.
